Hey Old Man.
How have you been? I don't recall the name of the movement. It is relatively new. The first time I heard about it was this past week. It was on the news again this morning. The main focus seems to be on protesting Wall Street, but protests were also coordinated in a number of other large cities at the same time. Apparently they have taken issue with corporate greed after having bailed out these same companies and banks. They have also had with those in Congress that are protecting these companies and banks while demanding spending cuts at the expense of the American people. They are considered to be the liberal counterpart of the Tea Party. It would appear that the American people are waking up to the fact that they are not effectively represented by their elected officials in Washington. They seem to view the average American citizens as cash cows to finance the life styles of the wealthy. Hopefully they will be able to organize into a voice to be considered in the next election.
Interestingly AARP has espoused some of the same issues. It has a strong lobby in Washington, and may add some legitimacy to the movement.
