i often get calls from Carlos (about every other week).  Usually I don't charge them as it's a 5 minute lookup and not worth my time to put billings together for a quick jpeg by email.

 Recently, they've wanted deeds in other counties, as abstracters are harder to come by in this economy.  They've often had to seek special permission but typically have no other choice, so they pay my premium for going out of the way and for the years of giving them plenty 0f "freebies".  

 Bad economy has forced me to charge for the formerly "freebie" services too.  I guess they need the work;  captive audience, so they make sure to get my bills processed quickly.
