Having lost 10's of thousands of dollars when I first started out and was an idiot and trusted everyone I have put in policy.
I never let a new client go out more than $300.00, once they hit that mark I need to see a check, if I don't see a check in 30 days I accept no more work.
I don't know how these people sleep at night screwing people out of money, I know I couldn't do that.
Losing $300 is one thing losing 1000's is another, it really can hurt individual abstractor's. The only good thing about having lost so much is that I had paid the guys who did my work AND I learned a lesson the hard way.
I hope you get paid.
