I hear you Leigh!  I still have one that, after giving me the run around for the last year actually told me he doesn't "use" us anymore because our fees were too high.  Let's see... 1. Why do you care if you're not paying them anyway and 2. like you said, oh darn, you're killing me not sending me future unpaid work. 

I threatened reporting them to the state and local Bars and followed through but neither could assist me which I assume is why my threat wasn't taken seriously.  They have their site emblazoned with BBB so I filed a complaint there as well but they said they don't get involved in payment disputes.  What they overlooked was that this title company has been writing policies on unpaid searches and the numerous other issues this brought up.  They're caught up to a year behind (they've sent piddly little checks every three months or so).  I'm not sure attempting a lawsuit out-of-state for $2500 is worth it and don't know how to go about it. 

On that topic - how does one file suit against someone outside your state?  You know, I'm going to make that a topic because I know many have the same question.  I looked online in the past but didn't get far...
