I am stunned and amazed when I read these things. My abstractors charge between 125 and 175 for a full title search, and I honestly think that's a fair price.  How does anyone get away with charging $30.00??

Curiously enough I just took a call from a vendor in India who insisted that he could do a full title search in Maryland for 20 BUCKS!!  Well, while that would be great, I came to realize after a very brief discussion with this vendor that he did not even know which state I was located in. He was evidently just making random calls.  When I asked how he anticipated pulling copies of required documents from various courts, (we are not 100% on line) he was at a loss.

Seriously, keep it local, pay the price and sleep well at night.
