How are you going to get the assignment to the recorders' offices if you're sitting in New York?
You either have to mail it or courier it. The cost is .44 cents for first class mail. That's if the postal service is still in business and they don't raise rates.
Assuming the above numbers the postage alone would be $264,000.00 per day or $58,080,000.00+ per year. That doesn't count envelopes, handling, return postage, etc. And it sure doesn't take into account the recording fee.
If we use 600,000+ assignments per day at $6.00 average recording per page that's $792,000,000.00 per year.
So we're at $1 billion plus without labor to support a paper system?!?!
And we haven't even begun to address refinances and satisfactions!
You have concepts of revenue sharing between the states and federal government.
But the larger point is to find some "reliable" and "legal" method which facilitates the commerce.
We need to get "private investment funds" back into real estate lending and get the government out if we're to have a chance in housing.
