when we went paperless around 2003/04 we bought 3 Fujitsu SnapScans, and had problems with every one, misfeeds, jams, etc. Sent them back and got Canon DR-2050 or DR-2080, can't remember which is the older model, only replaced them with the newer model when we upgraded to Windows Vista because they wouldn't work with Vista. new ones came with new software and everything worked fine with Vista so I tried the old one again with the new software and now they all work with no issues. they are rugged workhorses, carry one around in the trunk and it always fires right up and goes to work, small footprint on your desk, and light enough to carry around in a small case. i don't care for multi purpose machines because when they have an issue sometimes everything quits, no scan, no print, etc. and scanned image quality is always better than fax image. often I can take a poor quality image from a courthouse copy and end up with a better image after scanning.
