To say that there have never been any cases of water being polluted by fracking is just not true. There was a release recently that got into a creek and killed the fish with neurological toxins. The used fracking liquid is being treated at plants that are not equipped to remove benzene and other dangerous chemicals. I wonder why the gas company spent 6 million to run a water line to some in northern PA.  I guess they're just awfully nice. I wonder why they keep delivering water to PA residents if they bear no responsibility for the water going bad.

I understand that perhaps the most dangerous part of the fracking mixture is the salts which can destroy an ecosystem pretty quickly and can only be diluted.

The headwaters of the Delaware River provide drinking water to millions of people, including New York City. Polluting their water will be a major catastrophe.

The methane has been in the water in the area of Dimock but not in everyone's water. The fracking process will release methane that has been stable. More fracking, more methane released. The fracking that is now being done is much much deeper than in the past. We saw in the Gulf of Mexico what happens when greed trumps technology.

And now we have a new governor in Pennsylvania who took a million dollars in bribes, oops, I mean perfectly legal campaign contributions that would never sway his opinion or cause him to act against the interests of the citizens of Pennsylvania. Can we really trust our new governor to regulate this industry for the benefit of New York or New Jersey when he's been paid by the gas companies?  What would he do when he runs for reelection? I notice that Texas (hardly known for being tough with energy companies) has a 5 percent tax while PA has opted for a 1 percent tax. Guess that million was money well spent.

I realize that this will just be dismissed as another hit piece but some, with open minds, might find this article enlightening:
