This sounds much like our experience. After several months and talking with several helpful-sounding people at their company promising to "look into the problem" (and refusing every order "until we get paid in full"), we finally received payment in full. Now I have my phone automatically reject their phone calls. They leave voice mails, but I never return them. We have plenty of work from good paying clients that I don't need to waste my time and money working on the hope of maybe being paid someday.
In addition, when they place an order with you, they ask if you can have it to them by a certain time of day, which we are not in a position to promise. Usually it's some unreasonable time, as well. Then, about an hour before it is due, they start pestering you to know whether they will have it in on time. Ridiculous. We are professionals, but not miracle workers. We provide a good quality product with industry-standard turn-times. When something is late, we communicate with the clients to let them know why it is late. That is what professionals do.
ATR is NOT a professional company. Save yourself the headache. Find clients that are good to work for. There are plenty of them out there.
