Thank you, everyone, for your comments and letting me know I'm not the only one out there who feels this way. As a vendor manager, I run into a LOT of clients who try to treat me like an indentured servant -- or at best, an employee. All of my actions affect the bottom line of the abstractors who subcontract to me, so I try to bite my tongue -- at least for awhile. However, there have been times when I've not only burned a bridge, but blown it up. And then I send an "alert" out to every abstractor I've ever used warning them off! Sometimes it's just the only thing I can do.
