Steve M, that is a good idea and somewhat the nature of recent changes to laws here requiring 1) Louisiana licensed attonrey to read abstract and give opinion of title before any title commitment or policy can be issued 2) the name of the title agent, name of attorney who gave title opinion and name of the title underwriter be printed on the sale and/or mortgage when an owner's or lender's policy is issued. In that way a subsequent when a title search reveals a title defect you know who to call.
