I have often helped the public with searching if I have the extra time. I also do it as a courtesy and not for profit. The general public does not understand as an example "no record" or why their deed they thought was filed isn't there and then a charge to boot! Usually, they have no comprehension of records and law so its best not to charge them anything. Its a slipperly slope. We are not attorneys who have the right to charge for our advice. JL
