It appears to me that your company betrayed the trust of the Abstrator, in that you ordered searches for which you were unable to pay.  The invoices for these searches is due upon receipt.  Title Abstractors have expenses, and some have either employees of 1099 sub-contractors which they pay on time.  When you do not pay your bills in a timely manner, how do you expect to receive the services of a qualified abstractor?  You appear to be quite on the defensive by stating:  When a company demands "the entire amount immediately!", they are often in trouble themselves."  The fact that the abstractor is demanding his/her money does not denote they are "in trouble themselves."  It denotes that they want their money which you have owed for some time, and they have run out of patience.   You should be glad you are not dealing with me, as I first start charging a late charge and after 60 days,I turn it over to a collection agency in the requestor's location.  In addition, I report the delinquency to the BBB.  If none of this works, I sue.

Abstractors are running a business.  Unfortunately, I find too many of them being "too nice."
