SitusAMC used to be a few companies - String, AMC, Situs, and Meridian Asset Services.  All these companies did different things, but within the industry. So AMC bought Meridian and String, and then merged with Situs to become SitusAMC.  At that time, our Legal group advised that we needed background and drug testing due to some of our contracts.  They were able to "grandfather" existing abstractors, but since then, any new providers have to go through these screenings, and we pay for it.
