Yes she took the documents offline when the local sheriff informed her that a group of people had been arrested in New Mexico and they found records to be used for identity crimes they had downloaded from county sites nationwide. An audit of the clerks online records revealed that one in twelve of the online records contained information sensitive information like that found on the NM Suspects.
It wasn't clear from press release if she warned anyone that a million records had been removed until she announced that she had "redacted" certain data from the document images and placed the records back online. It isn't uncommon for online clerks to do this and then proudly announce after the fact that the records are now secure and complete.
