It's not just foreigners doing searches online.  People out of state & even w/in the state do online searches here.  (Not me)!  Did a search today, 4.5 acre tract per tax assessor - c/o vesting deed, 2001, & 6 loans since, recite a tract # & plat (survey) bk/pg.  It's only for a .25 acre piece that is landlocked.  The plat is not online, only available at the courthouse.   So one would not know that just using online records because the legals don't give the acreage.  You have to look at the plat. The tax assessor didn't catch it either.  The majority of the property, including the improvements, are titled in another's name.  From the "return to" names on the loans, I suspect these were all done by onliners.  Just one example I've had of late.  Leigh, your comment cracked me up!
