Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of the CT shooting and agree with your presumption that we need to ban assualt weapons period! However, you were doing nothing but obstructing that officer from doing his duty and prolonging that deers pain even longer with your actions on the road! The fact that he checked with the Dept. of Wildlife before shooting the deer meant that he was atleast making a token effort to appease you as it was not an obligation to do so before shooting the deer. An officer's dept is responsible for reporting it to the Dept of Wildlife within 24hrs of having to put an animal down. If it was a dog the SPCA would be notified, both of these are not for justification but for statistical data only.
