On 12/12/12 there was a public meeting with the Hamilton County Commissioners and a room full of abstractors showed up to explain how serious it would be to close one day a week. After about 7 people spoke up, the head Commissioner said something like, "thanks for coming and sharing your concerns... we won't be able to give additional money but we don't think the Recorder should close and we will do what we can to help"

Apparently, they changed their minds because the next day they gave more money to the Recorder and he immediately announced he was staying open.

Thanks to everyone who helped mobilize a quick response to this situation. We the people have won this time.
