She told you the truth,  how can you, or why would you want to compete with the people who want to do a CO search for 20 bucks or less?    Concentrate hard on being the best real estate agent in your location, and you'll make so much $$$   and be so respected that you wouldn't even want to consider doing abstracting.   Best of Luck.
