whenever we send out a doc retrieval, it's always with a "base fee" for the time/trip, as well as reimbursing copy costs.

sometimes we order through the county if it's remote, but most of the time it's faster and easier to get someone to go for us.  Doesn't make any sense not to pay someone for the time and travel...unless maybe you're already in that courthouse...
