While I understand your feelings, what you are saying is that it's alright for you, and me, and other abstractors to do the easy work on line, but it's not ok for an outsider.  If you can get away with it, raise your prices a bit to cover the cost.  I also tell clients that we do not make special trips to the courthouse just for doc retrievals and it'll have to wait until we have other work.  That never seems to be an issue.
