To continue-- the case in Essex South caused an incredible amount of hardship for innocent homeowners who'd had prior good faith (on their part) dealings with this oil company.  The oil company filed mechanics liens against homeowners, for gigantic sums of money, without bothering to notify the homeowners that they'd done so.  Then, all they had to do was sit back & wait until someone wanted to refinance or sell their property.

Mechanic Lien filings aren't valid for unpaid oil bills and/or service agreements, but no matter; the fact that they were on the record title stalled closings & may have cost homeowners better interest rates or, worse, these people may have taken a hit on their credit ratings.

When I re-read the article I noticed that the sovereign government people, although holding themselves above the rule of laws they consider illegal; have no hesitation about wielding those same laws as retaliatory weapons against people they don't like.  Mob justice is no justice.
