Hi Patty, we went down that road with our attorney as well. When National Real Estate went belly up they owed us a LOT of money and we thought about putting liens on the properties. He told us we couldn't, not sure what statute it was but that's here in Florida. It may be different in CA. It's worth a trip and a consult fee, worse they can say is no.
