I would reply back to them that THEY ordered title from you, NOT Linear ... so THEY are responsible for making payment - whether Linear pays them or not. I know people who do work for them and have not (so far?) had any payment issues, so this may be a one-off with the person you spoke with? Though it says he is the "staff accountant", so he should know better. Perhaps you could just decline any orders that start with "LIN"?
