Hey, can we get back on topic rather than descend into Facebook style anti-Republican rants?
First of all, insurance companies are in the business of assuming risks. Would you expect your auto insurer to issue you a policy against theft after your car gets stolen? After all, it’s not fair for them to deny you coverage due to that pre-existing condition. There will be no insurance to buy if people only buy it when they need it. The insurers are simply adapting to the regulatory environment.
And the worst is yet to come. The vast majority of people in this country get their health insurance through their employers. None of them is dealing with the effects of this because they haven't lost their plans yet. Just wait till they get their cancellation notices and their premiums go up, which is supposed to happen in the employer-provided market in January.
