Ask them. I've been in business as a vendor manager for over a decade and have probably used 80% of all abstractors in the state at one time or another, not to mention working closely with other vendor managers. I think you'll find that when you ask for a full search, you're getting 40 years worth of data, but no farther. The only exception would be Wayne where they list out easements differently (and are much more easily located) (and perhaps Oakland?). Read the small print on their write-ups. "Includes only those easements/restrictions given/created during the timeframe of this search." We (vendor managers) all have something like that on our forms as do the majority of abstractors using their own write-ups.
