I responded to a post looking for independent abstractors
The company is in the U.S. but this is their pay structure for a minimum of 2 years experience as an independent abstractor:
$ 2.00 for an update
$ 5.00 for a 1 owner
$ 15.00 for a two owner
$ 35.00 for a 30 year
& they wanted copies included & a bankruptcy search included with all searches....
Is anyone out there really working for this cheap as an independent???
After paying for insurance, misc office fees & supplies, taxes, taking the time to log orders in & out, doing the actual search correctly, then typing it up, scanning it & emailing everything back to the client on time .... I think I would actually lose money working for those prices???
