I am also owed a lot in copy fees from them. I had been doing their work for 10 years and always got paid no problem till Shawna Skinner/Sandra Filey came on board then getting paid for copies was 6 to 9 months behind. They started to catch up but then decided to pay for what they wanted not for all that they ordered. There is even a statement on their website stating that they will only pay county copy fees some reason they do not think it is a service. And if you are a 1099 sub contractor they can not dictate pricing policy's but they have. I have 2 contracts with them both have my copy fees on them. So if they send me work they are automatically agreeing to my contracted fees with them. Yet she refuses to pay them. Also if you need an up charge for a current owner that turns into a full to get out of family she says to bad you either do it or no more work. She has even threatened that if I did not complete a search that I requested an additional fee for, for the original price she would not pay me for orders I had already completed that month. No lie that is the truth still have the emails, I saved all of hers because I was also so amazed someone with no business knowledge or etiquette actually was working for First American in a position that deals directly with there vendors which I would assume would be important to a Corporation so large in the title industry. I know a dozen searches at least that refuse to work with them anymore because of her. I am not sure why Sandra Filey and Shawna Skinner are still employed there. Either we have not complained enough about them or First American just does not care. I know when I finally had enough I contacted someone I use to work with that was in their position whom is now in another department and told them about some issues I was having , not only were they shocked when they read some of the emails she had sent but said I was not the only one whom has issues with them. Things were much better for a while after that. But then after getting over 2000 pages for them in 2 weeks I was sent an email that they would not pay my fees. Nice! That was it I am done fighting with them and now I have had more time to build business with clients whom will pay. I am still trying to get paid they owe me a lot of money.
