Yea, and it is getting weirder.  I checked into it a bit more, and the Prosecutor had nothing to do with it.  It was the work of the in house attorney in the Recorder's office.  I've learned of 2 others as well.  One they blamed on the Treasurer, said the check was too old.  I checked with the Treasurer, they had no problem with it, and were not consulted.  The other was blamed on a rogue employee, again I verified that was a lie.  Terrible to watch, Franklin had a reputation in the state as the best of the large counties.  It has been a long week of working with the underwriters and the bar to start getting this straightened out.
