We got these back in 2008 from companies like National Real Estate Information Services and Commonwealth Title/TA Financial, we all know where they are now! These are drastic efforts by companies in trouble and never work, best it does is buy them time. I wouldn't waste the time even replying to the email! I would concentrate on getting every dollar they owe you before it's too late!
