I also received this letter and I'm shocked as I thought this company was more reputable and familiar with Vermont's unique registry system.  Each town has their own land records so you are not just traveling to one county courthouse.  Even though you may be searching in one town and then the neighboring town, the town offices could be 50 miles from one another.  Not to mention that they all have their own days and hours of operation. There are several towns that are open one day a week for 2 to 3 hours, or by appointment only.  Good luck finding coverage for those. It's  also common to plan to go to a certain town on their regular days of operation to find the office is closed for illness, vacation, fishing, etc.

 I find this type of mailing disgraceful, so let them find someone to do it for those prices.  That would make a decision to take a job at McDonald's more favorable.
