There is a lot to this.  We as title searchers are part of the new system.  For instance, we need to use encrypted emails, shred our papers rather than just throw them out, use software that meets the new requirements, change passwords at least every 90 days, have a clean desk policy etc.  This is just a quick statement of some of things we will be required to do.  The Lenders/Title Insurance Companies are tasked with making sure the stream of information they receive and send is secure.  That means everyone in the stream must meet some minimum requirements.

 All this revolves around NPI (Non-public information).  Once we start converting public information into a title search it becomes NPI and subject to the regulations.

I suspect most of us have no clue as to what is involved.
