As a vendor manager who is also an abstractor, I am BOTH sides of the coin -- and that's part of my frustration.  I would never do this to my clients on the orders I run personally and I don't expect anyone else to do it to me.  The only client I have that asks for full copies is my commercial client in Michigan (and I can certainly understand that request), and an India-based client that we all know and "love" when they want a pre-foreclosure order.    I have several clients who want vesting deed copy only and one that wants NO copies.  I have my write-up -- if I need to check out the copies later for any reason, I just pull them from the write-up.
