Becoming a NJ title searcher ... - Bobbi Shorthouse, Notary Public/CT

Since as a title searcher you will be looking for work from title insurance companies, you may want to call one or two title insurance companies with offices in NJ.  See if one of the attorneys has a moment to talk with you about what their company looks for in a title searcher; i.e., insurance coverage (you will be financially liable for any errors in your title search), licensing requirements, and experience.  Also, s/he may give you an idea of how many other experienced title searchers you will be competing with and fee range for title searches.

The attorneys who taught my paralegal classes were excellent sources of information, including people in the industry to contact.
