Despite my rant and my stand on public records and copies thereof, I would never want to be involved in a suit against any of "my" ROD's.  I would never want to make their lives more complicated and stressful than they are already.  This is how I feel personally -- professionally, the copy situation chaps my hide, but personally I am too fond of the people I deal with on a daily basis and value what they do far too much to ever be involved in anything that hurts them.  I have been there when a "civilian" chews them out because they explain to said civilian that they cannot run a mineral search for them.  The abuse I have heard from people who haven't a clue is astonishing, and always they reacted professionally and with kindness.

 No, I'm sorry, but in this regard, my bark is definitely worse than my bite.
