I started using an online quickbooks program that accepts credit cards.  And I have my own Vendor agreement that I had my clients sign.  When I send a file out, the invoice is attached with a link to pay by credit card.  So far most of my clients have converted over to it with the exception of a few that are located in my back yard so to speak...I can go knocking if they're late on payment.  But overall, I've eliminated the non payers that have stiffed me for large amounts of money and I'd rather make less income and actually make that income rather give away free searches.  But I have never encountered a potential client or current client that will pay for services up front and I've been doing this for 24 years.
