I have worked as a Title Examiner for 2 plants that have morphed into mills using Overseas work product. They want you to QC it for 1/3 of the price and double the amount of time, essentially re-doing it. The plant's concept then becomes that the cost of the name search is on the Overseas contractor. Then if you don't have the information attached you have to go hunting for it old school in the public records, which is ludicrous. Traditionally, when working directly for a plant you end up with the access to the databases to do the Name Searches. For someone who is going to work creating essentially the same product as before the wave from India, where would you find the affordable database? I have yet to see a link or information to say, DataTrace for the individual Examiner. As someone who is going freelance and familiar with this kind of database, I am hoping that one of you can direct me. I am so thankful to have found this site, as I am finding that we all have had some of the same issues. Nice to know that it is not just me.
