@Scott, that's what I wrote back to them and explained. Slander and Libel both are something False that is intended to cause damage. The standard is the same for both. But if you are telling something that is true, just telling your opinion or telling your experience with the company (like giving a bad review of a restaurant), it is neither slander or libel. The guy threatening people is just a sales rep, he probably doesn't know the history of his company and how they've operated over the years. There's alot of new people there (been there less than a year) who have no idea of what's gone on before they got there. They simply don't know the reputation that this company has garnered itself.
What's funny is that the original comment I replied to above, didn't even mention the company's name, she just referred to "a certain title company". And my reply never mentioned the company's name either. Yet they seem to be admitting guilt without specifically being accused...lol.
