I know it doesn't seem like racism to you Hope, but your bit at the end there is pretty offensive.  The thing is, I have a handful of degrees--if you got on the phone with me, there's a fair chance I'd find your English lacking as well.  You might even sound to me like you've got a thick southern accent suggestive of a lack of education or qualifications.  However you're more than competent given what you need to accomplish using the language and I'd be wrong to judge you on that basis.  I would suggest refraining from casting those stones.
