Nils, I just called First American's Vendor Management again...The name of the supposed mandate is CFPB...Consumer Finance Protection Bureau...which seems to pertain to mortgagors and their mortgages...I asked about the Background Check company, too...It seems they "are just a company that works with First Am..." Loretta McKay at First Am sent me a link: www.consumerfinance.gov
