Joe,
Being sick is a horrible situation; I know. I have been on dialysis for a couple years also, doing home dialysis. I have to have both kidneys removed before I can get a transplant as I don't have room for a 3rd kidney inside me. I have also gone through cancer, chemo, radiation, and honestly, I don't wonder sometimes if natural selection would have been a better way to live...however, EVERY SINGLE DAY, I wake up, and THANK GOD that I have another day...another day to love my husband, to do work I love, to teach my daughter about life, to learn something new....
You need the "fish philosophy".
1--BE THERE--be in the moment
2--PLAY--make your life fun, be creative, enjoy small things
3--MAKE THEIR DAY--make someone smile each day
4--CHOOSE YOUR ATTITUDE--only you get to choose if your day is going to be good, even through the challenges, or bad, because of the challenges.
Life is too short to keep bitterness inside; get it out, move forward, forgive, live.
Even if every single day is a struggle, that struggle lets you know you are still alive.
Good luck with all your treatments, and I hope you can still live life to its' fullest.
Joyce
