Copies are a big issue. More and more companies are requesting us to obtain copies but will only pay for what the county charges. The thing is if they wanted to get them from the county themselves the county charges a fee and a minimum of $1.00 per page some charge $2.00 per page and they send them out after they receive payment. This could take up to 2 weeks.

They expect us to put up our money get the specific pages from the several different offices put it all together handle them from court house to office to send to them. We do not get our money back on those copies for 30 to 60 days. I have 1000's of dollars out a month just in copy fees.

I am not suppose to get paid for the service? Seriously, retrieve copies especially when they want certain pages is very time consuming and expensive. I timed a foreclosure I did, it took 1 1/2 hours to print all the pages requested, and cost me 146.00 cash on the spot. And I am not suppose to get paid for that time and putting up money for a month or 2.

The people in the companies making policies not to pay above the walk in copy charge, I do not think would come in on a Saturday or stay late and work for free for the same company asking us to work for free.

Searches need to stand together on copy fees I know times are tough for searches and we have inexperienced people coming into the market offering ridiculous fees for service but they won't last if they do not know what they are doing. Do not be weak just to get work it is not worth it in the end you can get paid more for your time at Walmart LOL!
