Bob Costa it is a service that takes extra time to collect copies form various locations for one search. In the 10 plus counties I work in not everything is on line and some copies requested require me to go to other locations just to obtain copies that I would not have to go to if I didn't need a specific copy. Copies are on computers, in books, in files on microflim and sometimes need to be ordered. When required to use copiers that is page by page coping. Not only that when you are requested to get only certain pages of each document you then have to print page by page in some counties this is so time consuming. I have timed how long it takes to do searches with and without copy requests and there is considerable more time needed when copies are requested. I actually make less money per search w/copies in comparison to doing searches without copies.   

NEVER MIND THE FACT WE HAVE TO PAY OUT OF OUR POCKET FOR THESE COPIES AND WAIT 30 TO 90 DAYS TO GET PAID FOR THEM.

I carry anywhere from $4000.00 to $8,000.00 in expenses relating to copies not including the time that goes into getting them putting them together counting them, and billing for them. This is all time that would be free if there wasn't a service fee added to copies. My family has been in this business since before copiers and everyone I know charges a minimum $1.00 per page. Only the inexperienced unprofessional give their time away and loans money to there vendors for free whom I am assuming have far more assets they you do.

Do you think any of them come in on Saturday and Sunday or stay late for free, or do anything for there employer for free!!! Seriously are you in business or volunteering for the needy. 

I do not work for free!!! And either should anyone else!!!
