I have a background check done every three years by the State Police.  I keep a copy on file for exactly this type of situation.  I originally started having it done myself when I became a Notary Public.  The results page contains no personal information such as social security number, date of birth etc.  When I am told I need to have a background check, I explain I will be more than willing to provide a copy of the one I have already completed and they can verify the information with the State Police but I will not submit to any additional background checks.
