If the Appraiser was expending extra money to vent her political views on subjects unrelated to her duties in office, I would probably agree with you. But here, the Appraiser has merely indicated her agreement with the new law-- without spending a dime of taxpayer money-- on a page which is otherwise devoted to giving information about the new law, which is certainly within the legitimate scope of her duties. So I really don't see any waste of taxpayer money here.
As taxpayers, we don't have a right to government that does what we individually think it should do. Of course as a taxpayer, you have every right to vote against a public official who takes action that you disagree with.
