Putting blame on the banks is misguided...they were pressured by the government to make loans to people they knew couldn't repay them. This is from the Clinton era. Fannie and Freddie let the banks know that they would back them if the borrowers defaulted. That's a win win situation for the banks. Anyone would take that bet. Why do you think the banks got bailed out...Now they're doing it again. New legislation is going through to do the same thing. I'm not surprised they lowered the downpayment to 3%, I bet it goes even lower. Along with the regulations. I mean who doesn't think that this ridiculous government doesn't repeat it's stupid mistakes over and over just to get votes. Pathetic. On the bright side; if they do this again....we'll be booming!!
