Maybe save yourself and them some time and in the communication stating your correct fee for the search they want, type in capitals  "THIS FEE IS NON-NEGOTIABLE".  If they make a counter

 (lower) offer back to you, ask them if they can't read your email or don't know what "non-negotiable" means.
