That's what I thought too - an easy/peasy solution to a messy problem- but the title insurance company nixed it. What they wanted was for the attorney to go to Probate Court & get some kind of Court Order approving all the previous sales; even though no licenses were taken out.
I don't understand how it would be possible to reactivate a closed Probate file; let alone get a blanket *hey I know it was forgery on all 6 deeds- but I'm giving you all a pass* type of document. I suspect, although I don't know for sure since I never hear about how these types of things are resolved; that the title insurance company was worried about fraud coming back to bite them.
I did hear from the attorney though & he wasn't at all pleased with the title insurance company. He felt that a nice round of quitclaim deeds from Dad was good enough.
