Possibly. You see the company you are doing work for may require that you have E and O Insurance. I am not sure for you state but in CA my E & O Insurance requires me to report if I contract work out to an individual to provide their information and if they have E & O Insurance all of that will be taken into consideration for my rate and for the application of renewal each year. You may want to call an insurance company in your State and ask. It may vary from State to State. If you are working for a Company that has E & O Insurance and are acting more as a consultant, you may not need it. There have been times when I have been required to provide proof of E and O Insurance for Independent Contractors. It is always changing. That was a long answer for I am not sure. I would check with an insurance company in your state.
