It's a huge problem in FL. The title insurers losses for this scam keep growing. They have rules that are being put in place to try to avoid this. It usually involves vacant land and an absentee seller along with a price that is too good to be true. I don't understand how the FL clerks will check IDs, since the majority of documents are efiled. If you look at a lot of the clerks websites they will tell you that those companies (Home title Lock) are a scam and they'll give you the same info for free. Same goes for the companies that will provide you with a certified copy of your deed
